Most apps treat privacy as a compliance list: meet the minimum legal requirement and move on. CleverNote treats privacy as part of the product: you need to trust that you can leave whenever you want, with everything that’s yours.

Data isolation

Every account has its data completely isolated. There is no way to cross data between different accounts. Every query in the database mandatorily includes the user_id, there are 14 different isolation points in the architecture.

Exporting your data

The export creates a portable bundle with everything that’s yours:

The file is generated on the spot and downloads directly in your browser (clevernote-export-DATE.json)
The file contains:
- All notes (JSON with content, metadata, versions)
- All original files (photos, PDFs, audio)
- Extractions (expenses, entities, reminders) in structured JSON
- Financial plans

The JSON format is readable by any programming language. You’re not “locked in” to CleverNote: you can migrate to another system or keep a local backup.

Deleting a note

When you delete a note, all derivatives (expenses, reminders, embeddings, files) are removed right away. Only a tombstone of the note itself stays for 30 days (configurable): during that window it doesn’t appear in search or chat, and afterward the tombstone is purged for good.

To delete: open the note → menu (three dots) → Delete.

Deleting your account completely

This action is irreversible. All data is permanently removed.
