Bank connection in progress: continue before starting again

You authorized a connection, returned to CleverNote Finance and still cannot see the bank. Or the bank was already connected and now asks you to sign in again. Starting another connection can seem like the quickest response. First, check what the screen is waiting for.

In the Malvo web connection flow, CleverNote Finance can continue an attempt that is still in progress and show existing connections before opening another one. This guide separates a pending authorization, a connection that needs a new sign-in and a second bank user. Follow it when the service shown in your connection flow is Malvo.

Started connecting and returned without confirmation?

Open Bank accounts in Finance and check whether the bank is already there. If an attempt is still in progress, read its message before starting another authorization. Waiting for the bank to confirm is different from an attempt that has ended with a failure.

When you try to connect through Malvo while another attempt of yours is still in progress, CleverNote may show:

You had already started this connection. It continues here, without opening another one.

This happens within the flow. There is no need to look for a button named “Resume”. CleverNote returns to waiting for the existing attempt.

Read the actions currently available. Continue to your bank opens the authorization flow; after you return, the screen may offer Check now to check the result. If it asks you to return to your bank or displays an error, follow that state before opening a new connection again.

A bank missing from the list immediately after authorization does not prove that nothing was authorized. The outcome depends on the confirmation received, and an attempt can end unsuccessfully. Check the final message before deciding what to do next.

Is the bank already listed and asking you to sign in again?

For a bank already connected through Malvo under your account, the new connection flow may show You already connected [bank] or You already have banks connected.

If the connection is active, use View [bank] or View connected banks to inspect the existing one. If it needs you to sign in, use Reconnect [bank]. When more connections need attention, the screen may take you to the bank list first so you can choose the right one.

Reconnecting renews access for an existing connection. You do not need a second login simply because the current connection stopped updating. Disconnecting should not be your first response to a wait either.

Consider this fictional example: you connected Aurora Bank with your personal bank user. Days later, the connection asks for authentication again. If you still use the same bank user, inspect the Aurora Bank connection and reconnect through it, following the instructions shown.

When does another login make sense?

A second bank user is a different situation. In the fictional example, you also access Aurora Bank with a different user for a business account. Add another login for this bank lets you start that separate access.

Before proceeding, the confirmation asks Add another login for this bank?. Read the explanation: this option is for signing in with a different bank user. Choose Add login if that is your intention; Go back lets you reconsider.

Having another bank account does not necessarily mean having another login. Check how you access that account before choosing. For a different institution, Connect another bank remains available.

Finish by checking the right connection

After completing the flow, return to Bank accounts. Check the institution, the accounts shown and any request for attention. Closing the authorization page does not establish that all data has finished arriving.

When reviewing records, the entry title guide explains the difference between a displayed name and a rule for future imports. For the initial connection flow, read Connect your bank.

Open CleverNote Finance and check the connection state before choosing to continue, reconnect or add another login.
